With new single "Tennis Court", Ella Yelich-O'Connor manages to volley between the luscious full-bodied hooks of Lana del Rey and the bubblegum-popping insouciance of Charli XCX. As her flowing vocals lock lips with your ears, the white-hot reflective synths melt you to a pulp and the rest is high school history. Still only a handful of songs into her adolescent career, Lorde has already established herself as Australasia's next great hope for pop glory, and she couldn't have come at a more perfect time. Crushing hard.
