LIGHTS + MUSIC 004: DANGER

We know what you did last summer, and now it's time to do it bigger than ever before. At long last, we're thrilled to announce the triumphant return of Lights + Music, picking up right where our three sold out L+M shows of summer 2011 left off but in a brand new home. Of course we're teaming up with The Knocks and Wilkes Agency once again, but this time, we're moving on up to our second home, Santos Party House, to provide an adequate rave haven for all y'all. You best believe we're taking full advantage of the plus-size floor space with a brand new DJ stage set-up (this ain't no Popshop) and more lasers and production effects than you can shake a glowstick at.

Some of you who witnessed Danger back at our June Popshop may have a faint idea of what's in store,  and he's back alright, badder than ever before for another massive throwdown at Santos. Warming things up before Danger is Brooklyn's Chrome Canyon, the spaced god, tearing the roof off our very heads, and Luka Son of Wolf getting things started early and keeping them going late. It's Santos like you've never experienced it before, and it's all going down November 15th with 10pm doors and a very limited number of $10 earlybird tickets available HERE now.

The last few have sold out hard and this is shaping up to do the same, so cop your $10 advance tix HERE while they last.

POPSHOP017: DANGER + BODY LANGUAGE

Last month's Popshop was another sold out classic and the stuff of legend, but next month's lineup is quite literally a dream come true. Yes, the rumors are true, we've got French electro heavyweight Danger - presumed missing since the great electrowars of 2007-2008 - as he makes his triumphant return to New York with a brand new, never-before-seen live show. We don't know where he's been hiding these past few years, but we do know that he threw down one of the most amazing shows we've ever seen when he obliterated Berlin in 2008, and we've been dreaming of having him on the Neon Gold stage ever since. And as if that wasn't enough, we've got our favorite Brooklyn partystarters Body Language tearing the roof off the place live, plus Boston synth radicals Carousel getting things started early and our main man Xaphoon Jones keeping it going late. Yeah, it's gonna be a large night. Santo's Party Mansion. Thursday, June 7th. 9pm SHARP. Tickets HERE.

CRYSTEENA.

Word on the street was bangers are dead, but it seems Mille didn't get the memo. Coming off like the blue-eyed love child of Ratatat and Danger, Mille's synthed-out masterpiece "Crysteena" is a proper top down summertime JAM and we fucking love it. Look for him to start killing it in the remix game in the months to come, but for now feast your ears on "Crysteena" and get lost in the wrinkle in time that is its chiptune brilliance and commodore 64'd-out synth nostalgia.

YOU HAVE NO SPIRIT.

The Golden Filter pretty much brought the house down last week at Heaven, but originally slated for the opening slot were our very own friends in Pink Stallone. Coming off like Danger remixing the Flashdance theme, "Swiss Ambulance" landed on xxjfg earlier this year and apparently impressed the shit out of the Late of the Pier bros who headlined and curated last week's Heaven showdown, but airfare expenses rendered their appearance at the night impossible. Pink Stallone are here to stay though, as oven fresh new track "Ghostfriend" further establishes them as rising stars on the electro scene. With a single release on the Pier's Zarcorp imprint potentially in the works and the Jersey kids' slow-burning lounge disco jams consistently putting them head and shoulders above most other US based electronic acts kicking around at the moment, look for Pink Stallone to do start seriously fucking shit up in the new year.
