After shining on his remix debut for MS MR's "Fantasy", the band's full-time drummer (and part-time Vine superstar) Zach Nicita is quickly making a name for himself in the remix game. Next up is a complete reinvention of last year's folk-step masterpiece, "Breezeblocks" by Alt-J, which we're excited to unveil to the world today. NICITA takes the peppy original, strips away its playful whimsy and adds a shadow layer of concussive percussives that slice through thin air, like a rattling hypnosis that snakes its way into your ears and down your spine. Keep an eye on this guy.

Our fondness for Sweden's native brand of frosted pop is well documented, and today we're pleased to introduce you to their latest offering, Sirena. Street name Elsa Carmina, the Barcelona-born singer ushers in a tidal wave of exotic heat on debut single "Love Is Not". As undulating synths ring their way around your finger, her lovelorn voice resonates like the smoking pixie fireball of Lykke Li with the rapturous homespun afterlife of Ms Mr. There's no expiration date on this one, but you're gonna wanna get familiar with Sirena as soon as possible.

Stop the presses, this is important. MS MR and CHVRCHES are already having banner years each in their own right, and today they come together on an empire-toppling remix that's one of our favorite things either has produced to date. The Scottish electras take "Hurricane" and dive headfirst into the eye of the storm, kicking up the tempo in a mess of gale force synths and taking things straight to South Beach circa 1980 on some serious Whitney Houston shit. This is the sound of all of our dreams coming true at once.

There's no denying that MS MR has been smashing it as of late on a very global scale (see: festival audiences in the thousands Down Under, a sold out run through the UK and Europe, and a massive sync on the latest Game of Thrones trailer). And with their newest single "Fantasy" quickly amassing an impressive remix package featuring the likes of Kele Okereke and Xaphoon Jones, MS MR's human drum machine himself, Zach Nicita, throws his hat in the ring with a thunderstealing mix of his own on a fantastic remix debut. Over a sidewinding bass line that just doesn't quit and a flickering percussive rhythm, it replaces the glittery innocence of the original with a shadowy ominousness that reimagines "Fantasy" in an entirely new light.

Aussie superduo YesYou are no strangers to the kind of visceral pop that makes us swoon in our seats. We premiered the first taste of their debut EP, "Frivolous Life", last summer, and now we're back with another exclusive, this time for the two piece's much anticipated follow up, "Amsterdam" (pictured above, played below). After an explosive Delphic-sized intro, "Amsterdam" goes full-on Metronomy with shapeshifting faux-setto and moody, brooding basslines before ultimately opening up into an oceanous singalong chorus. The lads are opening for our number one stunner Ms Mr next week in Australia so if you find yourself down under, we don't have to tell you (yes, YOU) twice. GO.

There's a new diamond in this New York rough, and she goes by the name of Halona King. With a debut EP fully loaded with the virtuoso production handiwork of MS MR's very own Max Hershenow (that's MR to you), Halona knocks it out of the park on her first at bat with this darkly decadent collection of haunting torchsongs. "War Ground" is the real show-stopper of the bunch, with a spine-tingling piano lead that recalls Sia's "Breathe Me" running throughout as King showcases an elegantly restless voice that treads a delicate line between the powerhouse vocals of Adele and Alabama Shakes' Brittany Howard. A diamond in the rough indeed, watch. this. space.

And so the West Coast hit parade just keeps marching on, as the mysterious and amazing Ghost Loft hit the scene with "Seconds", an R&B chart-topper in another life coming back to haunt your dreams. With all the shadowy intrigue of The Weeknd's arrival last year and the Tumblr-noir aesthetics of Ms Mr,  "Seconds" opens with an XX-esque bass line that pulses through sliced up samples of straightforward sentiment. When the verses take over, the dreamlike vocals intertwine seamlessly with the instrumental, flitting effortlessly between soothing and soothsaying. SHADOWS BLEED.

We still don't know who or what they are exactly, but with each passing day we find ourselves falling more and more head over heels for Ms Mr's mysterious pop charms. Pardon our French, but there's a certain je ne sais quois about their wholeheartedly nostalgic pop-noir that's just fucking incredible. Take this new video for "Ash Tree Lane", edited by the visually gifted David Dean Burkhart, for example. With a brilliant cinematic intro, it soon plunges headfirst into an Alice In Wonderland rabbit hole before taking off on a journey into the heart of the American dream. Again, it's the mystery girl's vocals that effortlessly tug at your heartstrings, while taking you by the hand and guiding you through a slideshow of familiar images of American life, so nostalgic they feel like a far-off fairytale.

The constantly moving visuals are perfectly suited for the high-hat heavy beat and ominous, weighted keys that howl beneath the song's surface and steadily build up like Jenga bricks before coming crashing down in the chorus like a synthwave attack. It's a massive drop for a massive tune, and we're more than excited to share the mp3 with you below, along with the exclusive premier of the video above. Have at it.

DARK TWISTED FANTASY.

Word on the street has it that there's a new mysterious pop duo in town by the name of Ms Mr, whose phenomenal Ghost City USA EP (get it for free at their Bandcamp here) has been causing stirrings amongst those in the know since they self-released it earlier this summer. On lead track "Bones", ominous piano chords storm in with a light upper register that suggests the tiniest glimmer of hope in an imminent descent into darkness. You fall for Miss Mystery's voice, with its strawberry blonde traces of Florence Welch and Kyla La Grange, and it teases you along, consciously leading you out of your comfort zone. The chorus wields big rolling drums and haunting echoes of the past, drifting through you until you burst through closed doors into an intimate middle eight that acts as the calm before the verse storms back and carries the song to its epic denouement. The tone sets a dangerously vivid backdrop for a Kubrickian thriller and even the production feels oddly cinematic. Yep, whoever this Brooklyn boy-girl duo are, they're clearly a force of nature to be reckoned with. Consider this the Irene we've all been waiting for.
