After shining on his remix debut for MS MR's "Fantasy", the band's full-time drummer (and part-time Vine superstar) Zach Nicita is quickly making a name for himself in the remix game. Next up is a complete reinvention of last year's folk-step masterpiece, "Breezeblocks" by Alt-J, which we're excited to unveil to the world today. NICITA takes the peppy original, strips away its playful whimsy and adds a shadow layer of concussive percussives that slice through thin air, like a rattling hypnosis that snakes its way into your ears and down your spine. Keep an eye on this guy.

When we last heard from our beloved superfriends Ellie Goulding and Xaphoon Jones, they were teaming up on a dazzling cover of The Weeknd's "High For This". Today they return with a sequel of sorts, as they collaborate on another cover in the form of a seductive ode to our favorite new band of last year, Alt-J. It's a soprano-blessed, soul-drenched, horn-laden triple threat of Neon Golden proportions that will tug at your heartstrings and make you weak in the knees. Exactly the kind of homecoming we needed after a larger than life Memorial Day weekend, welcome back to reality.

Alt-J's An Awesome Wave has quickly cemented itself as our favorite album of 2012 thus far, and if the remixes they're getting through are any indication, they've got no shortage of admirers in high places. Following in the footsteps of excellent remixes from Dave Sitek and Odd Future's The Internet, here's the latest rework, courtesy of My Morning Jacket's Jim James.

∆ (alt-J) is one of our favorite acts to emerge from the UK this year, so we're thrilled to hear that our dear friends at Canvasback will be bringing the debut full-length, An Awesome Wave, crashing down on US shores in September. Album highlights "Breezeblocks" and the awe-insipiring "Taro" stun in spades, while lead single "Fitzpleasure" triangulates between soul-searching vocals, idiosyncratic melodies, and meticulous instrumentals. Given that "Fitz" already sounds like the genetic hybrid of Wild Beasts and new TV On the Radio, it makes perfect sense that TVOTR's own Dave Sitek took the reins on this massive rework. Mr. Sitek neatly trims the fuzz to reveal the more youthful exuberance of alt-J hiding underneath. Gone is the rumble and grumble of the original, replaced by all the tribal goodness in the world.
